Personal Statement
I got my first set of plastic clubs as a baptismal gift when I was 4 months old. When I was 4 I got my first set of real clubs and played my first golf holes on a par 3 executive course. That round I got my first par. I hit my 3 wood on a 110 yard hole. When I was 8 I played my first real golf course. My family and I played tiger’s eye in myrtle beach. I shot a 93 from the red tees..
My academic goals for high school and college are to finish each year with a 4.0 or better.
My practice is what I am most proud of in myself. From April till October I practice on avg 30 hours a week. Around June and July I sometimes touch around 50 hours. I don’t sit on the range all day and wack balls. My mom drops me off at the club at around 7:30 am. I get an hour on the range and 30 minutes on the putting green. Then I play 18 holes and keep track of all my stats. (Gir,fir, proximity, left/right etc). Then after the round I spend 30 min per weakness. I usually get picked up around 7:00 pm. I am proud of my self that I am able to stay focused for that long. This also helps with my endurance on the course.
I have an excellent short game. I am also long off the tee. The best part of my game is my putting. If I can get the ball within ten feet for par I know I have a very good chance of making it. I have a lot of confidence in my game as well as a strong mental game. I also perform very well under pressure. If there are 100 people watching me I know I’ll play my best.
I have learned many lessons of patience and will power from golf. The game taught me respect for an adult sport.
I've been working with a personal trainer twice a week on my flexibility, power, and balance. I also take lessons from top 100 golf digest teacher. He is #1 coach in Pennsylvania 2002-present.
