Personal Statement

Ever since I was a little kid and watched college football with my dad on Saturday's I always wanted to play a college sport. When I first picked up a golf club on the very first day I hit a chip seven iron across the green and into the hole and every since them I have loved the game. My academic goal throughout high school is to keep at least a 4.0 GPA. My GPA currently is a 4.3. What makes me a good candidate for your team is that I am very hard working and determined to be the best. What makes me different from others is that I will not leave the golf course until I am satisfied and have improved at least one thing about my game.

SC Junior Match Play
7/12/22 to 7/15/22
Stroke play qualifying shot 76 played okay. Only hit one fairway with the driver. Round of 64 I was the 31 seed and won 1 up technically shot 74. Played ok putted well. Round of 32 came out birdie birdie and was 2 up ended up shooting -4 on the front and was 3 up. My opponent then got it back to all square with 5 to play I won the 16th and was one up with 2 to play. He made birdie I made par so all square with one to play I played it smart with 3 wood iron center of green because he was in fairway bunker. He hit it to about 45 feet I putted first and putted to about 4 feet and my opponent made hit putt from 45 feet. I wasn’t upset about it because I finished every hole and shot 69 giving me some confidence ahead.

Played terrible both days shot 78 81. Missed cut. Only positive was played -2 in the last 6. Putting killed me.

First day played good shot 71. Second day only made an eagle and no birdies shot 74. Finished the tournament with a 75 with poor driving. Overall T35 out of 144.

First day played very well but finished bogey bogey. Shot 75. Second day started triple bogey bogey birdie birdie. Went bogey free till the 14th hole and shot 75. Finished T9 on a very hard golf course. Rating 72.9

First nine holes made only 1 birdie and shot 40. Back 9 made a hole in one on the 11th hole the a quad on the 14th the following that went eagle birdie birdie. Shot 75. Second day had nothing really going the positive was finished birdie birdie to shoot 79. Met the season golf of making the all-state team.

Started bogey bogey shot 37 on the front and made a double on the back and 2 bogeys as well and only made 2 birdies. Shot 76 finished 8th.

Started out with a terrible drive on 1 punched out to 100 yds and made par and played really solid till hole 9 and made double bogey. Then was on a root on 10 and had to layup and made bogey and same deal on 11 for the most part. At this point I was 4 over and was ready to play aggressive so next hole 155 took dead aim hit it to 10 ft made the putt. Next hole ok par at best. 15 54 degree to 15 feet made the putt. 16 rolled in a 25 footer. Next hole par 3 had 1 foot for birdie. And on 18 lipped out the birdie try to force a playoff. Honestly very happy with my play even though I know it could have been much better. Very solid finish. Shot 72 even par. Yardage 68-6900.

First day played really well and made almost no mistakes. I birdied 15 and 16 coming in and then there was about a 15 mph wind into the face on 18. I flushed and 8 iron and as soon as I hit the wind just stopped and it flew the green into the water. My coach even said that was just very unlucky. Shot 75. Next day very windy played pretty solid with the wind but was very frustrating because greens were hard to come by shot 79. The last day got canceled due to weather.

The first day there was 30 mph winds that mad it impossible to score well I hit the ball so good it’s just the wind would take it in the weirdest directions. Second day pretty much the same deal. 82-80

SCJGA- Fall Series at Fort
12/04/21 to 12/05/21
I played pretty well throughout the two days aside from two holes which both ended in a triple, I really was not mad at these holes because I ended up played the final three holes, over both days, a combined -5. I also made 10 birdies throughout the tournament, I just had two bad holes thats all. Ended up shooting 74 on the first day 75 on the second. I putted pretty well and hit the ball pretty well, especially with my wedges and low irons. Overall finished 3rd out of 42.

SCJGA- Boys Fall Challenge

Overall a very tough golf course with a little bit of wind. Applied with the cold did not play my best. First day hit the ball ok but missed to many fairways and on this course you cannot do that shot 78. Same thing the second day but played slightly better besides the last hole and shot 77. Overall finished T29 out of 90.

First day didn't putt very well but hit the ball pretty well, in a way ball stuck my way around the golf course, shot 74. Second day sort of the same thing I hit the ball great but could not get a putt to fall, shot 75. Overall finished T6 out of 35 not my best putting days but still scored well.

First day did not know the range was across a 4 lane busy highway so went out with no range balls was 2 over thru 3 and shot a 2 over 73 with 4 birdies in the par 5. Next day had a very good front 9 with a 32, -3, then felt like I ran out of steam and shot 6 over on the back for a 74. Finished T14

First day played pretty well wedges could have been a little closer but shot 75. Next day had a very solid front nine with a 35 with 2 birdies neither on par 5 then the back just had a bad stretch of holes and could not get back down where I was shot 77.

I hit the ball pretty well the first day but had 36 putts shot 81 and the fact that the greens were punched and top dressed didn’t help. Next day played pretty well shot 74 with a 39 on the front and bogey free 35 on the back. Hit lots of fairways and greens and putted solid.

7/13/21 to 7/16/21
Had a really bad back nine in the stroke play qualifying was the 56 seed coming into the tournament the next day. Being the 56 seed I played the 9 seed he won the first hole and after that I played really solid only making a 1 bogey the rest of the day. I beat him the 9 seed, 2 and 1. In the round of 32 I played really well the match was back and forth all day we both we about -3 for are stroke play. He ended up making two 25 foot putts and a 15 footer to close it out. All in all I played well in the match play both matches I was under par for my stroke play scores.

Shot 86 the first day. All around just could not hit a green and get up and down. Second day shot 74. Played well, putted good with 29 putts. Final day shot 77. Got off to a bad start, was 4 over through 3, +6 making the turn, shot -1 on the back. Finished tied 87 out of 336.
