Brad Thorne '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Brad Thorne and i am currently a Junior at Oakbrook Preparatory School in Spartanburg SC. I am 5'7" and weigh 135 lbs. I have always been a fast runner and over the last two years have become very strong for my size. I am a hard working student athlete and I am a strong professed Christian. I value my school work, golf, and faith with God and Jesus Christ. I have played golf most of my life but got serious with it when I was 12 years old and have been taking lessons and working hard ever sense. I am a hard worker and it has been my goal since I was 12 to play golf in college and I intend on achieving that goal and I will work very hard to make sure this dream comes true. I compete in tournaments outside of school and I am trying to find bigger tournaments to compete in to help make a name for myself. I can say that golf is my passion and I would love to play golf for the rest of my life, as long as I am physically able. I have played varsity golf at Oakbrook since 8th grade and have made the all region team every year including a tie for runner-up my sophomore year with a score of 75 and the winner shot 74. I am the #1 or #2 player for Oakbrook this year, my junior year. I am a team captain and have been for the past 2 years and i always encourage my players to practice, practice, and practice some more. I would like to play at a D1 school and I think I have the ability to play at a smaller D1 school but I am not limiting my options to other divisions by any means. I would like to major in either sports psycology, athletic training, or to be a physical therapist. The size and location of college is not a priority but I want the college that I attend to have a golf team that I will participate on and a decent to great academic reputation. I can be a leader or a team captain of the team that I play for and if I am I will do my best for myself and for my team. My goal is to play as a freshman at the college I attend and I intend to make an impact on said team.
