2023 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Golf is, and always will be, a big part of my life. Growing up, I was a small kid and I would go out of my way to play with the older kids and learn to my best ability. I have been coached by professionals for over 8 years of my life and am still learning and improving as a person and a player. I made the varsity team as a freshman at 5'2", 100 pounds. Now, as a Junior I remain on varsity at 5'10", 140 pounds. I had to get used to playing as a smaller kid which has really allowed me to fluently adjust with the changes of getting bigger. My coaches like to say I am a natural team-leader, and a role model for others. I'd like to think that also, but sometimes I tend to be hard on myself. This year, I started playing in some North Texas Junior PGA tournaments so that I can play with different kids on different courses and practice getting better. I plan to keep doing this. I want to be on this website to really put myself out there and show schools that I have aspirations to play golf. Thank you.
