Throughout my childhood I have been taught by my parents to work very hard at everything I do. I have watched my parents work very hard to get to where they are in life and it has inspired me to work my hardest at everything I put my mind to. I have applied my work ethic to my golf game and to my academics. With my parents and coaches' support, it has helped me get to where I am today.
When I entered 8th grade I wanted to learn how to get better at golf, so I asked my dad for lessons. He told me that he needed to see me working hard and putting the time in to purchase some lessons. After he said that I took my clubs and headed straight to the course. Everyday after school I went to the course for 2 or more hours working on my golf game to become better then I was the day before. Once November rolled around my dad saw the drive and time I’ve been putting in and got me some golf lessons. From shooting 113 at my first tournament back in 2020 to shooting mid to low 70s in the summer of 2022 I have worked very hard to get to where I am today.
Academics have been one of my greatest challenges throughout my life. During my 5th grade year I was diagnosed with dyslexia. It was probably one of the greatest things that has happened to me. I saw that I have a great way of thinking and even though it takes me longer to do things it just means I work harder than any other student to achieve the things they do. This drives me to become the best I can in my academics. I have worked very hard to keep my gpa at a 5.0 weighted and a 3.96 unweighted average and taking three or more AP or Pre AP classes every year of high school. My dyslexia has helped me work hard in school and become the best student I can be.
Outside of school and golf I am involved in and an active member of my church youth group and I am a member of the NHS. I have also started a small business reselling used golf balls to make money. I spend some of my weekends volunteering at my home golf course and building great relationships with the pro’s and the staff members at my course. Every morning I get up early and go hit the gym to get stronger and keep in shape.
I am entirely dedicated to working my hardest every single day to get to the collegiate level. I will push myself to become a better golfer,a greater person, and a contributing member of your golf team.
