I’ve been playing golf for 4 months under training by my grandfather Dean Overturf, who was a medalist at UT Austin in 1970. I want to work harder than anyone else to play at either of my dream colleges: Oklahoma University and Arizona State University. While I do not have the skill just yet, I believe with my work ethic I can achieve my goals by the time I graduate. However, I really just want to play college golf at any level so I’m open to any opportunities that come my way. I know that because I started so late I have no time to lose and I want to be the best golfer I can be. The biggest thing I struggle with currently is my mental game. I want to be good so bad that I set unrealistic expectations on myself, and get frustrated when I can’t meet them. This is what I have worked on and will continue working on every day for years to come. I plan to major in exercise science or sports medicine in college so I can learn how to take care of my body, achieve peak athletic performance, and have a career in the sports field when I retire or if something goes wrong.
