I began playing the game of golf around age 12 and ever since I have loved the game. I live in a small town with less than 650 people, our nearest course is 50 minutes away, so I am constantly motivated and cherish the amount of time I can spend at the golf course. I was first introduced to golf by my sister, who was the first person in our family to begin playing. She has been a great role model for me and I was so proud when she won the 2016 State 1A Girls Golf Championship in Utah. I went and watched her play and loved every part of it! It just made the fire burn hotter for me to follow in her footsteps so that I can feel what it was like to hoist a state championship trophy!
My mom and dad have been huge supporters of me and my golf game since day one and are the most supportive and encouraging people I know. I owe a lot of my golf success to them and they are another reason that I stay so motivated to succeed. I have learned a lot about myself from my golf game, but one of the most important things I have learned is to be humble. Golf has taught me to be humble because one day you can go out and shoot a 75 and the next day go and shoot a 90, it is a very humbling sport.
I know how important grades are to get into a good college, so I work hard to keep my grades high so one day I can be playing at a world-renowned university that will help me prepare for a successful career in Business.
I had good success in my first year of high school golf, I finished with seven top-10 finishes, five top-3 finishes, two wins, 2nd at the region tournament, 3rd at the 1A State Tournament.
