Patrick Gareiss '19 Recruiting Profile

I have played golf almost my entire life and have developed a true passion for the sport. I started playing golf pretty much as soon as I could swing a club. I have always loved sports in general. I’ve played football, basketball, baseball and lacrosse, but narrowed it down to golf fairly early. I still play competitive basketball in the winter. I feel playing team sports has taught me some valuable lessons – getting along with all kinds of people, respect for others and working together as a team. Since golf is more of an individual sport, playing for my high school golf team has given me that team aspect that I loved with the other sports I’ve played in the past. I have plenty experience in competitive tournaments, like AJGA, College Prep Tour, Hurricane Golf Tour, VSGA/USGA and U.S. Kids. What sets me apart from others is my self-motivation and willingness to sacrifice leisure activities to focus on my golf game and what needs to be done to continue to better my game.

I am confident that I can be an asset to a college golf team and also represent the school well academically.
