Winning the OVAC Championship as a sophomore with a record-breaking score of 64 has been the highlight of my golf career. After a devastating loss as a freshman, this was the victory I worked hard to achieve. As a freshman, I had the lead going into the 18th hole and made a double bogey to lose the championship. This loss taught me a lot about performing under pressure, pushing through adversity, and capitalizing when the time comes. I went on to win the OVAC Championship the next two years. My junior year, I defended my title with a round of 69. My growth as a competitor and a student athlete has changed my perspective on the game of golf and has allowed me to become a better player overall.
Golf has taught me that if I really want something it takes a lot of focus, practice, and hard work. If it was easy, everyone would do it. I am willing to put in the time every day to get better athletically and academically. It is my goal to compete at the highest level possible. I LOVE the game of golf and I want to continue to compete for as long as I can.
