Hello, my name is Aidan Rosas. I am a goalie for the Fresno State Bulldogs hockey club based in Fresno, California, representing the beautiful University of California, Fresno. I am a recent graduate from the 2024 Minarets High School senior class, and I have committed to Fresno State to pursue my education and continue my love of the game. I have been a hockey player since 2011, starting the position of goaltender in 2013, inspired by my fondness for the New York Rangers and my hero, Henrik Lundqvist. I have gained experience playing every year for the Fresno Jr. Monsters program, with additional experience with the Valencia Flyers AA.
I am now on the pathway of college and look to continue with my best foot forward and the best work ethic that one could show and put forth on and off the ice. I am someone who is defined by their love for the sport of hockey; I eat, sleep, and breathe this sport, knowing every little fact about my favorite hockey team and others. What I bring to a team is years of goaltending experience, learning more and getting better every day. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most knowledgeable people in the sport and attend camps led by NHL goalie coaches. Most notably, I trained with Thomas Speer, the goalie coach of the San Jose Sharks, during the summer of 2023. I attended his goalie camp, "Pacific Coast Goaltending," and learned more in three days than I ever did on the ice before. Since that experience, I have used what I learned to transition my own game, fix my form, and help my teams by showcasing my skills and realizing my potential and reach the highest level I can.
There have been setbacks and tough roadblocks, including moments during the season when I might not feel like myself or play like myself, and those happen. However, growing up in a household where hard work was showcased 24/7 by two of my heroes, my mom and dad, who are the hardest workers I have ever met, has taught me that life has its challenges. Even when it all feels like it is crashing down, there will come a time when things turn around. The ability to create moments and showcase talent is something that can happen to us all. It is all about work ethic and mindset, and those are the two biggest things I am trying to demonstrate and prove every week in all aspects of my life.
