Personal Statement

I am very excited for this stage in my life and hockey career. As of now, I am switching between Forward and Defense to show my versatility as a power forward and an offensive defenseman. I can handle the puck astoundingly for my size according to former NHL player, Randy Velischek. Mr. Velischek also says that my shot is very hard and is also very accurate. I can shoot the puck hard from anywhere. The hardest shot I've taken was in the upper 80's. I took this shot while training my friend, a goalie for Bergen Catholic and the  New Jersey Devils 18u and the goalie coach for Princeton University, Zane Kalemba. Another one of my favorite things to do during games as a forward is to stand in front of the net and cause havoc. I play the game with a lot of passion and heart. My emotions used get the best of me, but I have progressed during the past seasons. I believe that this has come from being a level 3 referee. As of now I only ref mostly midget AA/AAA and bantam AA/AAA games, but I learned that a lot of pressure is on the referee to make the correct call.

I am progressing in academics. My most advanced classes are AP Biology and Calculus Honors. My favorite subject is AP Bio as I get to do a lot of hands on learning projects. One of my favorite classes I have ever taken was called Stagecraft in which we build a stage for a musical.  I excel at helping others in subjects ranging from Physics to English.  I often  participate in volunteering with the school, and outside organizations such as a local Police Department. During my free time, my peers can always find me in the library reading, helping my friends with work, or playing a game of chess. As well as my love for school and hockey, one of my favorite pastime and hobbies is to sing and play guitar. I have been playing guitar for about 8 or 9 years and I have been singing for about 3 years.

I have no plans for the upcoming year, but I will be a senior in high school. After the next school year, I plan to push on in my career with junior hockey and to hopefully play at the collegiate level. Thank you for your time in considering me as a future player for your team.
