Personal Statement

  • I’m a versatile player.  Up until last year I’ve always played forward.  Last season and this season my coaches have asked me to play both defense and forward, focusing primarily on defense.  I’m a long and rangy, and skate well for someone my size.  I tend to be more offensively minded.  I can score but consider myself more of a play maker, striving to make those around me better.  Every season I have more assists than goals.  I see the ice well and consider myself a very good passer.  Above all, being a good team mate and helping my team be sucessful is uppermost in my mind.  In the past I have played with and against very talented players, some of which are now in the 18U U.S. National Team Development Program.  These experineces have shaped my character and ability as a player.  My goal is to play D1 Hockey in college.  This is my first year playing Junior Hockey and my goal is to use it as a stepping stone to higher levels of competition.  It has been an adjustment playing against older players but I am working hard and focused on learning as much as I can while helping the team the best I can where needed.
