Andrew Penca '22 Recruiting Profile

Diversity, determination and achievement are the most important things that a school, a team and an individual needs. In addition, I am heavily induced in these three things. Firstly, diversity is something that I have dealt with for many years. As I have relocated from Indiana to New York, New York to China and China to Australia, I have encountered people of many different religions, backgrounds, ethnicity etc.  This has taught me how to work with others in an group like a hockey team.

Determination is something that has always been a part of my ethos. Everything I take part in is done with the best of my ability.  Whether it be a simple warm up drill on the ice, an off ice workout or an essay in the classroom.  Each challenge that is thrown my way, I will try my hardest by putting in more work, more focus and most of all, more determination.

Achievement. This word is something every team endeavors to accomplish. Yet this is not only a word, it is a mindset. This attitude is an ethos in which I strive for.  To do this, I put in countless hours of dedicated training towards achieving my goal of competing at the collegiate level. Everyday I am motivated to do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of not only myself but most importantly, my team. Not only is my goal to serve my team, but to serve my country.  After college, it is my goal to join the military and serve as a pilot. Thus, commitment is another value that shapes my every endeavor.

In conclusion, your team would certainly benefit with my diverse background, determined personality and dedicated work ethic.
