Personal Statement
Hockey has been a passion of mine since I was four when I begged my parents to play. Since then the sport has brought me many opportunities, from life long friendships to developing leadership skills to my first job and academic advancement. After completing two years of high school in Maine, I transferred as a boarding student to Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Maryland and reclassified as a sophomore. My experience at Georgetown Prep is preparing me for being a college athlete by learning how to be on my own, balancing a vigorous academic schedule along with the dedication required to be a successful hockey player.
As a hockey player, I am a coachable athlete that works hard to better myself in every practice and take opportunities to better my hockey IQ through personal experiences and watching others. Outside of hockey, I have strong relationships with family and friends that are important to me as they have supported my aspirations both academically and athletically. I am a dedicated member of my school community, participating in student events and activities. I am highly motivated to find opportunities that better me as an individual.
I believe that you will find that I am not only a good fit for your hockey program, but also for the school community.
