I'm African-American and I was introduced to hockey by my Mother when I was 6 years old. My goal is to get a degree in Environmental Management. I'm interested in horticulture, landscape management, and sustainability. I would like to play collegiate hockey. I'm looking for more competitive ice. I want to see how far I can go with hockey.
I think I'm a good candidate for a college team because I'm willing to work hard and do what it takes to win. I prefer to play first line, but I'll play where I fit in. I'm not a puck hog. I usually lead my team in assists. I'm usually second or third in goals scored. I play right wing and center. If speed is an issue, I've filled in at right defenseman. I'm usually on the ice during penalty kills and power plays.
I think I bring character to the game. I've taken a few cheap shots, been called ugly names and rarely got foul calls. I know to protect myself at all times however, I try to avoid physical altercations. I like to respond to ugliness with shots on goal. I'm coachable and approachable. I welcome recommendations and criticism that helps me improve my game.
