Personal Statement
My Grandfather is a huge hockey fan and really influenced me to play hockey and go far. Along with my parents, he has been my greatest fan. He has instilled many life lessons through the eyes of the sport, especially "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard!"
When I was eight, I really wanted to play hockey. My dad built a hockey rink in our backyard and I would skate on that all the time. Skate, eat, skate, sleep, skate, etc.. Hockey became my life. Playing hockey has taught me that you need to have consistency, true grit, and dedication. Characteristics I have and continue to develop.
Academics come first though. My parents have always stressed the "Student" from the "Student-Athlete." I take my academics seriously and currently my GPA is 3.9. My goal for high school academics is to graduate with honors with the intent of attending a high standards college with an excellent hockey program. I will continue to strive to be the best I can be in both my academics and in hockey.
