Personal Statement
My goal for college is to play hockey at the highest level I can and do get as good as I possibly can, while getting a great education.
I’ll be a great candidate for any team because I bring a high level of compete anywhere I go. That compete level is applied to practice, games, weight room sessions, extra work, the classroom, and pretty much anywhere I go. I love the feeling of out working someone and surpassing them when I was previously behind. I’m also able to get along with most people and am a positive influence in any lockeroom situation.
The reason I am a better fit than any other candidate is similar to what I stated above. I’m extremely competitive and I’m able to thrive in that kind of environment. I feel like most people tend to “shrink” or kind of take a step back when they have to deal with older or better players. I’ve been going through those situations the past 3-4 years of my life, and I’m able to figure out a plan and execute it to move past those kinds of obstacles. On the academic end, I’ve always done well and that’s simply because I’m able to do my work and get it done when I need to. I learn to understand instead of learning to pass a test and I feel like that’s why I’m solid in the classroom.
