Personal Statement
I started playing ice hockey when I was 8 years old after attending a Wrangler’s hockey game and falling in love with the sport. Every time I step on the ice, I am reminded of just how much I love this sport. I started looking at college hockey as a possibility for me just before I started high school. I know that playing college level hockey is an opportunity that can impact the rest of my life.
On the ice, I work hard to compete at the highest level possible. I am dedicated to improving and when I am not on the ice with my team, I am often training in the gym, shooting pucks or attending private trainings and camps.
Academically, I work hard to maintain the highest GPA possible. I currently am enrolled in an advanced program and take honors classes as well as an extra advanced placement class. I have met with my academic counselor to ensure that the classes I choose are in line with what colleges are looking for.
I am looking for an academic college to challenge me academically as well as meet my needs for education in computer sciences. In addition, I would also love to compete at the highest level of hockey possible. I hope to use my college experiences both on and off the ice to propel me to be a successful adult and make my parents proud.
