James Zangara '20 Recruiting Profile

Hi,

My Name is JT Zangara from Randolph HS, NJ and I am part of the class of 2020.  I have loved the sport of hockey since I started to skate at the age of 4. I have been with my club team the NJ Freeze my whole hockey career. I have played varsity hockey for Randolph Hockey all four years of HS.  My junior year I was assistant captain and am looking forward to leading my team as varsity captain this year.  I have also been captain for my travel team the last 2 years and have played in 3 USA Hockey National Championship Tournaments. My commitment to my HS and travel team has lead me to a disadvantage because of not having a AAA status and playing in a AA league.  I have played in AAA tournaments with several tournament teams but my loyalty always stayed with my HS and Travel coaches and team. I don't regret any of it and would do it again. The relationships I have made and experiences I have had, made me into the unselfish, playmaker I am on the ice and an even bigger role model to the hockey community of younger Randolph hockey players including my 12 year old brother.  I volunteer as a coach for Randolph Hockey Recreational Teams and spring league teams throughout the year. I also work at Aspen Ice  teaching learn to skate classes and work hockey summer camps at Aspen Ice.  I have also been chosen for Tomorrow's Leaders at Randolph HS which is one of my greatest accomplishments.  My goal in this peer program is to influence our Randolph High School underclassman to become unselfish, positive role models in their community. I hope to have the opportunity to have the college hockey experience and continue to grow socially, academically and athletically during this next step in my life.  Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
