All my life, ever since I could walk I’ve been flying around on skates. Hockey has been such a huge part of my journey of growing up from making friends to learning how to deal with successes and failures. However, there is one thing that always stuck with me. The gift of obsession to get better was something I was born with. Whether it is in the classroom, weight room, or on the ice I’ve been obsessed with molding myself to be the best player and student I can be. I’m competitive in every aspect of life but hockey has always brought out raw emotion and I put my all into improving my game.
Although I’m on the small side for defensemen, I am not afraid to lay big hits and offer a whole arsenal of offense. Throughout my years coaches have noticed my skill level and have been able to use me on top offensive lines when other forwards are injured. I respond very well, adapt, and continue to help the team wherever the coach feels is necessary to win. I’m a calm guy off the ice but I’m all business when it comes to improving my game and proving to everyone that I’m an impact player.
Throughout the years, I’ve been honored with captaincies and assistant captaincies and feel I set a good tone for the rest of my teammates by leading by example and competing at levels that raise their game as well.
I’ve always wanted to play collegiate hockey at the D1 level. I love how competitive those players are and how they project their true love for the game in their play. I am willing to work hard and lead by example for any team I play for and will continue to work harder and harder everyday.
