Zachary Dering '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a self-motivated and determined student-athlete, with a goal to play NCAA hockey. I am from Cross River, New York, and I have played hockey for 14 years. I have always had a strong passion for the sport, I am always looking to improve as an athlete and as a person. As a player, I focus my game around size and defensive awareness. I am always looking to play strong defense and create scoring opportunities in the offensive zone.  I am proud to be playing with Maine Nordiques Academy 18u next year in NAPHL and the newly founded North East Scholastic League. I always want what’s best for a team, and I always try to have a positive impact on the team, both on and off the ice.  My parents have always had a strong influence on my career, they were both athletes and have always pushed me to become a better player.
