When I was two years old, I told my parents I wanted to be a hockey player so they enrolled me in skating lessons. On my fifth birthday, I joined a hockey team. Ever since then, hockey has been my life. On the ice, at home, or in school I am constantly pushing myself to reach my goals and further improve. Whether it was driving an hour and a half to practice or shooting pucks in the street, I was always working to get better. As I got older, my passion for hockey has continued to grow. Playing hockey at a high level in college has always been one of my main goals in which I look forward to achieving. Growing up in Eastern Long Island was one of the many challenges I have had to overcome. Last year, my home rink was an hour and a half away. Traveling far to play hockey while maintaining a 91 average in high school proves my dedication and work ethic. I believe what makes me a good candidate for any team is my leadership skills and drive. Not only am I always looking to improve as a player and a person but I always help my teammates and the people around me improve as well. What makes me different from other athletes is my nonstop work ethic. On the ice, I will never give up on a loose puck or a battle in the corner. Off the ice, I am constantly working out and training, as well as always fitting in time to study and improve my grades. Along with that I believe I possess a playmaking ability rare to anyone else. I can see the ice well and determine the best play, whether that means making a nice pass or rifling a shot.
