Gian Oliver '16 Recruiting Profile

My personal goal as an athlete is to play junior hockey and use that as a stepping stone to acquire a college scholarship. I have played hockey since the age of 4 and hope to continue to play thru college. I love hockey nor then anything and I am currently playing AAA hockey as well for my high school. I attended Linsly Prep for 2 years where we won 2 state championships and I was named to the all state team for both years. For the 2015-2016 season I be playing 18uAAA for the Pittsburgh Selects and u18 AAA in the summer for the Alain Lemieux Hockey Academy. Over the past year I have received 4 junior offers from teams competing at the Tier 2 level in Canada.

With my skill set and combination of speed and physicality I believe by the time I complete Juniors, I will be ready to compete at the college level. Some Junior hockey teams have contacted me in leagues such as the NAHL, NA3HL, USPHL, and other junior hockey teams in the united states. My dream is to play college hockey at a competitive level and do well in the class room. 
My brother is the reason I started playing hockey and he was not able to play in college. I would like to play in college as a tribute to him and also a way to thank him for showing me the greatest game on earth.
