I laced up the skates for the first time at a young age of 4 years old. I remember my Dad pushing and motivating me, as he does to this day and my Mom cheering me on. From the moment I first stepped on the ice with full equipment and a stick in my hand, I fell in love with the game. For as long as I can remember; hockey was, and has been my second priority behind school. I constantly think about the game and ways to better myself. In my 9th year playing the game competitively, I have grown more and more dedicated with each passing season.
I feel like I've 'been through it all' within my early hockey career. From championships to all-star games, showcases to captaincy. With each experience, I feel one step closer to my ultimate goal of playing college hockey.
I have played at high levels of the game. I have experienced AAA hockey through tournaments, showcases, camps, and team play. This has helped me to gain a strong taste of what it takes to fit the roll of a student athlete at the collegiate level.
Over the past few years, I have realized what it takes to get to the next level. My academics have been a consistent priority. I have maintained a GPA of 3.8 while participating in clubs and receiving presidential honors for both academics and athletics. I have received the best support from all of my friends and family members. I have experienced outstanding coaching and honorable exposure. I have worked and trained to get to this point in my career, and will continue the process everyday. Weightlifting and off ice training has been a priority in bettering myself as a hockey player. This is a factor in which I take very seriously.
I am sure there are a thousand other hockey players in the same position as me, but I know that I am different from them all. I have a work ethic and mindset that cannot be tampered with. I would consider myself very coachable and willing to help, and represent my team in every way. I am a team player. I enjoy spending time with my on-ice brothers and take pride in helping to motivate and lead them everyday as we excel together. Therefore, I will continue to better myself on and off the ice; both physically, academically, and as an overall person in hope to one day be successful.
