My name is Blayden, my name is the surname for Philadelphia Flyers (1972) defenseman Tom Bladon. I am honored to have his name in the hockey community as I play defense and was born in March, the 3rd month of the calendar year, coincidentally he wore jersey #3. My parents aligned these meanings for me in hopes and aspirations that one day I play this sport they both love. My dad being from Canada, is a die hard Toronto Maple leafs fan, so naturally through marriage my mother no longer the Flyers fan has jumped on board along with my two other brothers. It is this sport of hockey that has tied many family evenings together, watching, cheering, and playing mini sticks for hours in front of the television.
I know the demands of hockey, and the balance one needs to acquire with school work and hockey play may even be greater at the next levels. I currently enjoy playing for my high school team, Strath Haven High School and my current club team, Delaware Ducks. Travel is another factor I must allocate time for, I know I have the discipline to manage school work, fitness, practice slots and rest for myself. I revel at the opportunity to continue play at the collegiate level. It is my desire, and goal to play beyond my high school years. I know I would be a great candidate for your school because of my passion to continue to grow on the ice and in the classroom.
Thank you for your consideration,
Blayden Reid
