I spent my entire life, through ninth grade, in a tiny Christian school that provided me with a solid academic background and a strong moral foundation. Those early years significantly shaped my character and helped make me the person I am today. In tenth grade, I made the switch to a much larger, highly academic public school. This transition, from a small, familiar setting, to a large setting where I was faced with new challenges every day, tested and developed me in many unexpected ways. Not only have I grown through the increased academic and athletic demands, but I have learned that I actually enjoy and embrace new challenges.
I have played softball for as long as I can remember and cannot imagine going to college and not being part of the softball team. I simply love the sport and get pure joy out of working together with my teammates in order to win. Through playing with many different girls and coaches over the years, I have learned that I am a strong leader and a coachable player. I've also learned the importance of working well with others and communicating on the field. I challenge myself in school by taking mostly honors classes and keep myself busy with extracurricular activities. My goal for all of high school and college is that I will look back on both experiences and be able to say to myself that I put forth my best effort in everything I did.
