My name is Logan Blissett. I started playing hockey at age four, but I liked it before that, when my family would go to the rink to watch my dad’s games. I’ve always gravitated towards defense, but I gladly play where I’m needed. This season, I’m playing defense on my High School team, but played center last year because that’s where my coach needed me most. I got pulled up to center once so far this season when we were short, and netted two goals
I was selected as Captain last year for my JV team, and this year earned an Alternate Captain spot as a sophomore.
It’s my philosophy that when I’m at the rink, I’m there to work. I know that if I put in my best effort while I’m there, it’s going to pay off for me down the road. However, it’s not just the rink where I’m working on my skills. Shooting, stick handling, exercising—that can be done anywhere, and I enjoy time alone to practice those skills. Not only do I work for myself, but I also work for my team, and encourage them to do their best as well. When we all do our best, we all move up together.
I want to play college hockey at the highest level possible. I don’t expect that to just be handed to me; I am putting in the work to earn that right. College isn’t just about hockey of course, and I concentrate on my schoolwork to be the best student-athlete that I can be.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me. My versatility and commitment is what makes me an asset to my coach, teammates, and my team.
