Every strong hockey team needs a sound defensive core. The team needs defensemen that can skate like the wind, turn on a dime, and can make heads-up plays to get the puck moving up ice. That’s exactly what you’re getting with me. I do skating training every Tuesday morning before school. Because of this I am one of the fastest and strongest skating players in my league. I like to play a European style game that respects the strategy of the game, rather than playing a canadien style. I also do most things on a team that other players don’t do, but are still necessary to helping the team play well. While, I might not score as often as my team mates, I am an excellent puck distributor. A killer combination of situational awareness and soft hands makes me a great player to start the breakout, and a deadly weapon on the offensive side of the game. On the defensive side I read the attacking forwards and disrupt their play, making me one of the hardest players to score on, resulting in an exceptional +/-.

I also have great leadership skills, as I was selected by my teammates to be the captain of our team. I am looking for a school that will allow me to grow as a leader, and respects the strategy and tactics of the game. I would like a school with a strong liberal arts program, as I aspire to become a writer after college.
