I have a great love for sports, and played on 5 school teams growing up; until I got into high school and had to narrow my focus. So much activity came with a series of serious injuries: a broken leg & wrist in 6th grade, a broken back in 8th grade. Most recently I was sidelined 4 weeks this season, after a dislocated shoulder in football. But every time I’m injured, I show up & cheer on my teams; even when it killed me to watch them playing without me. I have always believed in leading my teams by example. And this year, my junior year, I’m honored to have been named a Captain in both Varsity Football and Varsity Lacrosse. I’ve found that being a leader sometimes means just doing what needs to be done; whether it be on the field or in the classroom. And because of the small size of my school, it affords me many chances to become a jack of all trades in both lacrosse & football. I played WR, D-back, and kick off return this fall in football. And last year, I played almost every minute of every lacrosse game. Our team was so small, we didn’t have subs. So I’d do face-offs and play middie until I was tired, then switched with an attackman when I needed rest. We made it to the playoffs for the first time in the history of the school and I contributed 52 goals and 28 assists. When I’m on the field, I believe in being a cerebral player with strong field vision, and I am looking for a program that will challenge me academically as well as athletically. I listen to my coaches, I work hard, and I know I will be an asset to whatever team I end up.
