Walking into my first 7th grade lacrosse practice not knowing how to cradle was a issue. I could have given up, but I was instilled to never give up by my dad, my life long mentor. I went to my first high school practice, not knowing what to expect. It was eye opening to see the chemistry and the family that was built on my high school team. I lettered freshmen year and started two games. Sophomore year I was the starter for every game, ending the season with an All Conference accolade.
I have always had a competitive nature, and always worked hard. I was picked as the hardest worker on my high school team sophomore year. It may sound cheesy but I was extremely thrilled that the coaches were able to see the effort I put into my team day in and day out. I gained this ability to work hard from living on a farm since I was 8. I was the oldest in the family so all of the responsibilities of feeding animals were upon me. Waking up at 6 in the morning everyday, just to make sure that the cows were fed, and their water tanks full. My parents have always taught me wrong from right, especially being the role model for 4 younger siblings.
Academically I am very competitive. I take the hardest classes offered at my school and I am always making sure I understand the content being thrown at me for 7 hours a day. AP classes are a part of my education as well as honor classes. I earned Honor Roll freshman and sophomore year, while still maintaining responsibilities with lacrosse, football, family, and training.
I look forward to college lacrosse. Not only for myself, but the opportunity to make my teammates better through competition. Through leadership and responsibility. And allowing me to prove myself to people, not only on the lacrosse field, but in the classroom and community as well.
