Personal Statement
Before I entered my Sophmore year of Lacrosse, I had decided that I wanted to play at the next level. This meant that I would need to be able to compete with bigger and stronger athletes. With this dream of playing college Lacrosse whizzing around in my head, I created a demanding workout schedule and dietary plan on top of all my academic courses. After a few weeks, I was In a routine and I felt amazing physically and mentally. My drive to become a talented Lacrosse player taught me the importance of self-discipline.
Along with being a rigorous Lacrosse athlete, I cross-train with an intense Taekwondo program. My training consists of various forms and techniques that deal with speed, agility, precision, and spacial acuteness when sparring with opponents. The other half of my training is on Taekwondo knowledge, for example, the five aims of Taekwondo are, "Respect, Humility, Perseverance, Self-control, Honesty sir". All of the work that I put into Martial Arts has directly transferred into my explosive Lacrosse style of play, and everything that I have learned from being an athlete has allowed me to be a positive and constructive member of society. I wish to continue my journey and play sports at a collegiate level.
Respectfully,
Christopher Chow
