Personal Statement
My name is Griffen Kaiser, and I am a junior at Father Gabriel Richard High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I am a 6' 1" 210 lb close defenseman with a weighted 3.94 GPA. I am enrolled in AP chemistry and AP language, in addition to honors physics, honors precalc, and advanced studio art. I have taken the ACT and achieved a 32 composite score. When not playing sports I work on developing my independent business of dying lacrosse heads and helping coach a local school's lacrosse program at Our Lady of Good Council.
I am a dual sport athlete playing both lacrosse (V) and football (V). I played basketball through my sophomore year, starting on both the freshman and JV teams. I have played for the past two years on the varsity football team starting at middle linebacker and wingback, started on the varsity lacrosse team as a sophomore, and received the All-League award. In the offseason, I play for both the Honey Badgers varsity club team and the 2021 Premier Lacrosse Group Black & Platinum travel teams; competing in the following events this summer: Chicago Cup Showcase, NXT Mid-America Showcase/The Grail, Trilogy Midwest Prime, Trilogy Great Lax Bay Classic, and IL Summer Shootout.
I am also active in my community, volunteering at a variety of local organizations such as Gilbert Residence, the Humane Society, Glacier Hills along with blood drives and special olympics events sponsored by FGR National Honor Society. My goal is to earn a spot in the lacrosse program at a strong academic institution that reflects my values and commitment to helping others.
