I am a 5' 11", 160 lb. rising senior named Conor O'Brian. I recently attended Peak200 and Elite180 showcases. At Peak200, my team was undefeated. I contributed 11 goals and 9 assists between both camps.
I have been playing lacrosse every spring since 6th grade, and have played indoors in the winter for the past three years. I have also been to lacrosse camps and played in a league the past two summers. Last summer I went a camp just for face off work.
I have played many sports in my life. All my coaches say I am very coachable, and am a team player. Almost every coach comments on how I always do as I am asked. They have also said that in games, I do only what gives the team the best opportunity to win. This is true. If I had a perfect shot opportunity from fifteen yards, but a wide open man on the crease, I will not hesitate to pass it off for the higher percentage shot.
As a freshman, I was an immediate starter and face-off man for Gilford High School, my school at the time. We finished the year below .500 and did not make playoffs. I received the NCAA Sportsmanship Award at the end of the year. As a sophomore, I again was a starter and the face-off man, and finished the year as the team's leading scorer. We were 8-6, and lost in the second round of the playoffs. I was named the team MVP, and was chosen as 2nd team all-state. After my sophomore year I transferred to Tilton School, in order to play at a higher level of lacrosse and increase my opportunity to play lacrosse in college. Our season was not a great one (3-9) but I liked playing at the higher level of competition.
It has always been a dream to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. Lacrosse is without a doubt my favorite thing to do, and I have always wanted to be able to play at the highest competition level possible, whatever it may be. Another goal of mine is to be an impact player on my team. I do not want to just play, I want to be a starter, and I want to have an impact on the game. However, I know this might not be the case right away, but I am willing to work hard in order to get there.
I am looking for a college that will be a good academic challenge and also have a lacrosse team that is competitive. I am interested in the science fields and possibly something in the graphic arts. But I am open to looking into any and all opportunities that present themselves.
