Personal Statement
Strength in character is measured how one reacts in the moment of pressure. I have learned, over the years, you have a plan but life throws you another. I consider myself great during high stress and intense situations both on and off the field. I am developing strong leadership skills and think, as a goalie it is important to constantly lead your team, even when everything crumbles around you. Life lessons about character, strength, endurance were modeled for me by my parents. In 2014, my 5 cousins came to live with my family and subsequently were adopted by my parents in 2016, making me the oldest of 6. In face of the most difficult challenges, all 8 of us had to rise to the occasion and become a cohesive team. I learned so many life lessons during this time, that I feel made me a stronger, more responsive, and well rounded player. I may not have had the opportunity for private lessons and travel teams, but I always give 110% and am very easy to coach. I have won both academic and athletic awards for character. As a goalie, my strengths are recognizing offensive plays and patterns, communication with defense, clearing ball accurately around 50 yards, not afraid to leave the crease when needed, but not a showboat either. There is more of me than what you see in film. I would love the opportunity to play college ball for the right coach.
