Hello, my name is Joseph Wallace McAnlis, and i am a High School athlete looking to continue my athletics into my college years. I have been playing lacrosse sense i was in the 3rd grade, when i went to a catholic school in kingston called st. josephs, playing with the Kingston Tigers varsity team at their summer practices, this gave me a huge boost as a young kid playing the game. when it came to modified i was already ahead of most kids my age in the game, when i got into my 9th grade year i had become the captain of the jv team. During my sophmore year i mad my debut as a second string long pole middie on the varsity team, my past junior year my High School team received a new head coach, one more experienced coach Bob Cappellettii.
As gaining momentum in my lacrosse carrer i was also partaking in other sports such as, wrestling baseball, and mountain biking. And all the while maintaining my practice as a martial artist in Soo Bahk Doo Mud Duk Kwon. i started Karate when i was five thirteen years ago, where i thrived and fell in love with the art. I practiced until i was finally ready for my first big step, and succeded in receiving my Cho Dan (first degree black belt) at the age of elleven. At the age of Thirteen i took the second huge step and received my E Dan (second degree black belt) and i intend on contiuing for as long as i can.
I began Wrestling when I was in seventh grade and when I got to the eighth grade i had become captain of my modified wrestling team. I began mountain biking in 9th grade as a nonscholastic sport, but i went on that year to come second in New York State in my beginners class. My 10th grade year i continued mountain biking and came 1st in New York State for my sport class. while this was happening i was continuing my wrestling until mid-season of the 10th grade year where i was infected with meursa and was made to sit out the rest of the season and end my wrestling carrer, but i continue on with my lacrosse mountain biking and karate, i have also stubled upon a nack for marksmanship being the spawn of a millitary man, and a biathlete mother i beleive it runs in the familly. I've also always loved working with my hands i was once caught stripping my fathers rifle down and learned how to put it back together myself, i learned the same way with small combustion engins.
I am a firm beleiver that the experiences we go through make us who we are, and i firmly beleive that my experiences have shaped my life. The Karate has lead me to an alternate way of living apart from most, one that intails self-reliance, honesty, and enginuity. The karate and growing up in the shadows of strong, intellegent millitary and police officals has taught me a way of leadership, discipline, integrity, and respect.
I am interested in majors/minors of US/millitary history, or mechanical/civil engineering. I am an open minded young man looking for whatever may interest me I've looked at many colleges and most every single one has had something im interested in. I prefer a Millitary college or a college with an ROTC program because i look forward to serving my country for some time after college.
