Personal Statement
My name is Max Gilyutin and I have lived in Brooklyn, New York my whole life. I have had a stick in my hand since I was three years old and have played goalie at a competitive level since I was 8. From playing the game for such a long time, I have a very high IQ and really know how to control a defense. I have good endurance and stamina as my personal best for the mile is 5 minutes and 45 seconds while my 40 yard dash time is 5.5 seconds. I have very quick hands and excel at stopping shots from within five yards of the crease.
Growing up in Brooklyn playing lacrosse from a young age has taught me to work hard and cherish every opportunity I have to play the game. Recently, I went on a trip to Israel with other Jewish American high school lacrosse players to teach younger, less fortunate players the fundamentals of the sport. We also competed against the Israeli and Polish national men's teams. Lacrosse has always been one of my greatest passions and ever since I was much younger, it has always been my dream to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. I have and will continue to push myself both academically and athletically to accomplish my goal of playing the game that I love in college.
