Matthias Rodriguez '29 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my Name is Matthias Rodriguez, I currently enrolled in Spring Grove Area School district, class of 2029. I am an Honor roll student enrolled in the advance track at my school while also playing two sports that keep my completely engaged year round. My education is the north star of the choices I make with lacrosse being second. This means I make no decision or choice that jeopardizes my future in either thing. Whether it’s making good choice about nutrition or training, or deciding to put studying before video games. 

I was raised to believe in a seven core values some of which might sound familiar if you were raised by a veteran or are one yourself; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, Integrity, personal courage.  Every day I live, I measure myself to these values striving to live up to them so I can be the best version of myself that exist ,to be the best version of a teammate to my team, player to my coaches, and to honor all those who have supported me on my journey.  

I have been playing lacrosse since I was 11 years old as close D or LSM. I currently play for the Spring Grove Lumber Jax for indoor winter, spring, and summer ball. I also play for TEAM at the club level. Which participates in fall and summer tournaments. I do also play football for my school team, The Spring Grove Rockets. I also participate in lacrosse summer camps such as the Nike xcelerate camps , and White Rose Lacrosse Club clinics. As you can see I very dedicated to the sport of lacrosse and my growth as an athlete by staying constantly engaged in the sport and whereas that may be impressive it's nothing like my dedication off the field. I have one simple mantra in the off season I WILL NOT BE OUT WORKED. I train very hard I run at least 5miles (except Sundays, even God needed rest), lift, work agility/ footwork drills, shooting drills, and throw at my rebounder everyday post work out. I believe I am the kind of player that can not only contribute to your team on the field but also to the locker room. I like to make everyone better around me not just as players but as men by being an example.
