Personal Statement
After high school, my plan is to attend a college where I can be strong in both academics as well as athletics. It is very important to me to choose a school with a degree that matches my future goals. I would be a good candidate for your team because I am highly coachable and willing to listen to instructions. I am very self determined and will seek out opportunities to improve myself. I also have high integrity and try to take intelligent, smart actions while doing what is right, even if it is not the easiest action available.
I stand out among others in character because I make sure to follow through on commitments I have made, I look for the positives in situations, and I try to find a way to make problems better. I am always trying to better my community and my surroundings, whether it is volunteering at nearby organizations or even simply cleaning up the trash on the sidelines after games. I also hold myself accountable to responsibilities given to me, setting a very high standard to meet them.
During games and practices, I excel at reading plays, seeing actions several steps ahead, and viewing the flow of the game at a higher level. I also make sure to keep up strong communication during the action, and I will not give up even when things are not going my way. In my first 2 years at a high school varsity level I had 104 CTOs, 79 GBs, 12 Blocked Shots, 3 Goals, 2 Assists.
Academically I am very strong. I enjoy learning and picking up knowledge wherever I can. I have taken a number of AP and Pre-AP courses and enjoy the challenge of those higher level classes. I currently have a 5.59 GPA, and am in the top 10 students of my graduating class.
