I have been involved with sports for most of my life, and for a long while I struggled with deciding which sport I wanted to focus on. I fell in love with lacrosse because it is a sport where no matter how fast or strong you are, it all comes down to how much work you put in. It is a sport where your skill level directly correlates with how much time you have put in to getting better, and there is no way around it. The effort and training that this sport demands has strengthened and improved my character in all areas of my life. I know that it is a God given blessing to be able to play, to be able to learn, and that many people do not have that privileged. I will not waste the opportunities given to me and I have seen the work and effort pay off in school as well as on the field. The ability to go to a school, where I can continue my passion for education in math and science, as well as having the opportunity to continue my lacrosse career, would be a dream come true.
My goal is to find a school where I can pursue a major in engineering as well as being able to continue playing the sport I love, and I am hoping to find a college that will allow me to do both. As a sophomore I currently hold a 3.8 GPA at Langley High School and am on the varsity lacrosse team. With a strong middie senior class leaving, I feel that I have an opportunity to greatly improve and grow as a lacrosse player, and to play a strong role in the program for the next two years. I am 160 pounds and 6 feet tall, but I intend to become much stronger and to put my time in the weight room so that I am able to best compete this next season. I have a strong relationship with my coach and will work and follow his direction these next two years to be the best lacrosse player that I can be. But in the big picture, education is my main priority, and I plan on focusing on gaining as much as I can from my high school education and creating a strong base to continue my aspirations in math and science.
