I started rowing this year, however that not something dragging me down, it uplifts me. I want to equal the playing field and I work 10x everyone else to make that happen. I get to practice early and stay after, I constantly talk to coaches about improving technique and form, and I am always watching film. I have played many sports but rowing is one that I have fallen in love with and I know I want to do for a very long time.
I am different than my peers because I am hungry. I always want to get better and every time I enter a boat i give it 110%. In races, I make sure to row like every stroke is my last, I leave it all on the water. I'm also a good orator. I talk to everyone, I treat all my team mates with respect and try to motivate them.
I am a High Honor Roll student, 3.8 GPA, IB and honors classes, Trilingual , and I manage family responsibilities with volunteering and sports. I work as a teacher at my local church, am student body president, member of the Health Occupation for Students of America club, as well as a potential EMT.
In terms of rowing, I am a rookie, but that's not stopping me. I have something to prove, not just to myself but to everyone and I want to continue working hard to prove that.
