My biggest dream at the moment is to go to the Olympics for rowing. I've read books like the Four Year Olympian and the Boys in the Boat, which have shown me that my aspirations are attainable, and inspired me to work extremely hard to get to them.
My first year of rowing in 2023 was tough. I didn't get into the boat that I wanted to be in and ended up in the 3V. We did medal in some novice events, but nothing major. Over the summer and fall, I decided to get grinding on the erg and dropped my 2k throughout the fall from a 7:30 to a 6:55 by the start of 2024. This ensured my spot in the U17 1V as the second fastest member. However, we didn't medal at CSSRAs, which was incredibly disappointing. That ignited a real fire in me yet again and I did absoloutely everything that I could to get better at rowing, hoping to make the 1V M4+ in the fall to go to the Head of the Charles. After a lot of hard work and dedication, (namely 100k+ a week on the erg) I made the boat, and am ready to compete this year, hopefully scoring in the top 10.
Outside of rowing, I maintain strong academics, averaging a 90.9 and am a member of the history club and trivia club at my school.
