Ever since I was young, I have been a three or four-sport athlete. I continue to commit to multiple sports while balancing honors and AP classes. I finished my 3rd year of varsity cross country and was named an All-Western Massachusetts runner all three years. I was also named captain this year. I play basketball year-round. I made varsity as a freshman and was a varsity starter and 2nd team All-Western Mass as a sophomore. This year I am a varsity basketball captain. In addition to playing basketball, I am an avid Nordic skier. I qualified for the Nordic skiing Massachusetts state team and competed in the New England Championships in 21/22. I have been a cross country skier since I was little and this winter got second in my age group at a 50k race in Rangeley ME and 2nd in Lake Placid. I have always loved pushing myself physically and being part of a team where we constantly strive to improve each other. This is what drew me to crew, I love the team nature and physicality of the sport. In crew, like all my sports, I strive to be the best teammate I can be by encouraging others, looking out for other team members and being a good role model.
I started rowing last spring year and immediately fell in love with the sport. My amazing coaches taught me the proper stroke, enabling me to compete with varsity by the end of my first season. I just rowed a 6:35 2-k on the erg and am training to bring it down to sub 6:30. I also received a captain's award. I am looking for a college program that can help me reach my full potential.
I value academics as much as sports; I maintained a high GPA (3.8) while balancing sports and extracurricular commitments. I aim to find a school where I can excel academically and in rowing.
