I have been rowing since I was 14. I started out sculling and quickly felt that I was participating in a sport that I was good at. I decided to row for our high school team. Freshman year was cut short due to an injury, but I still attended every practice and race. I rode along in the launches with the coaches and assisted the Booster Club President with maintaining the boathouse and equiptment. I never gave up. Last year I got back out on the water and erg in the Fall and Winter working on my form, technique, and strength. With a consistent Erg score, I was placed in Stroke seat but cut short due to an injury to my finger. I continued rowing with the injury, but I rowed in 6 seat. During our summer program I returned to Stroke seat. Aside from my high school team, I am also a third year member of the Atlantic County Rowing Association. I am dedicated and passionate about rowing, and feel that I could be an asset to your rowing program. My dedication is not limited to athletics but also toward my academics. I am a member of the Environmental Magnet Program, which undergoes an application process. I will be receiving a Distinguished Varsity Scholar award for the second time, and I am striving to be inducted into the National Honor Society. I cannot wait to begin the next stage of my life rowing at the collegiate level.
