My father rowed for Drexel when he went their for his freshman year, and he suggested that I give it a try. I have been rowing since the winter season of my freshman year and have been enjoying it ever since. I started rowing varsity as soon as I was no longer a novice. I am able to row port or starboard and am very easy to coach.
In my college search I am looking for a competitive rowing program that will challenge my abilities as a rower and an athlete. I would like to find a program that has a real sense of family and community with which the crew can bond. Right now I row for a small crew with a few competitive rowers who all race together and we do well, but we do not have any real competition on our team for fast ergs or seat races. But I do not like being unchallenged among the best rowers on the team. I want to be constantly challenged in the erg room and on the water, with a crew who all really want to win.
