For me, college is a stepping stone into bigger and better ambitions. Whether it be watching our bow ball hit the finish bouys first at a national championship, or directing a world renowned film. Being a coxswain is just like being a film director in that the followers and leader must have a mutual respect for eachother. Whether it be 8 athletes from stroke to bow, or the set crew from cameraman to actor. Yet coxing is so many other things than just the leader. It is a way in which I can utilize my mental and leadership strengths to excell competitively, which is simply something no other sport can do. What I bring to the table is a ruthless and steadfast dedication to the logistical, communication, physical, and leadership needs of my boat and team. What comes first is my duty to my team and teammates' wellbeing and prosperity. I am quick to learn and pickup on new skills and abilities, which allows me to be flexible when needed without sacrificing being able to make quick decisions in the best interest of the team. I have excellent visual-spatial skills, allowing for the quick memorization courses, landmarks, and distances. I rarely am overwhelmed by a situation, and can keep a level head in the worst of circumstances. While under pressure, I can solve the issue at hand efficiently and effectively while not falling into the realm of carelessness.
