I am a dedicated athlete with a passion for rowing, searching for a university that values both academics and a strong rowing program. Despite my limited formal training, I have managed to achieve a 2k time of 6:23, which I see as a reflection of my raw power and potential. However, I recognize that there is still much for me to learn and improve upon, and I am excited about the opportunity to receive proper coaching and guidance to further refine my skills.
Throughout my athletic journey, I have had the honor of qualifying to represent Canada in sprint kayaking at the Olympic Hopes Regatta (unofficial U16 World Championships) in Poland this September. Additionally, I have enjoyed success in other sports, including track and field (shot put) and hockey, where my team became U16 AA International Silverstick champions. These experiences have taught me the importance of hard work, determination, and the value of teamwork.
Balancing academics and sports is crucial to me, and I take pride in consistently achieving honor roll status with an average just under 90%. Subjects like science and math have captivated my interest, and I have developed valuable time management skills to excel in both areas.
Approaching athletics with confidence yet maintaining a humble mindset, I constantly strive to learn and improve. While I occasionally assume leadership roles in crew boats to optimize performance, I firmly believe that true leadership lies in supporting the team and fostering a positive environment, something I hope to contribute to in rowing.
In rowing, my aspirations include participating in the IRAs and aiming for strong performances. If possible, I would love to progress to higher levels of competition such as the national team, junior, U23, and senior world championships. I understand that achieving these goals necessitates hard work, but I also appreciate the importance of the support and resources that a collegiate rowing team can provide.
Above all, I am eager to contribute to the team's success and be a supportive teammate. I approach this opportunity with an open mind, ready to learn from experienced coaches and teammates. Joining a collegiate rowing team not only promises athletic growth but also invaluable life experiences and lifelong friendships
