Personal Statement
I would like to start by introducing myself, my name is Joe Holtey and I am currently living in Salt Lake City starting my senior year. My collegiate goals are to row at an institution that allows me to further my athletic and academic experiences. This will be a new phase in my life journey and one that will prepare me not only for career goals but allow further development in both character and physical growth. I consider myself to be a good candidate, I very much believe in the philosophy of hard work and mental toughness which not only embodies crew and its community but also my personal life and goals.
To describe some positive aspects of my character, I am very self driven in my goals and focused on achieving them. I have learned along the way to work hard and appreciate the success of wins and lessons of losses. I feel that my own drive and commitments have contributed much to my own personal growth. In summary these skill sets will translate into my collegiate success and ongoing personal development.
