Cole Voelpel '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cole Voelpel, I’ve rowed for 3.5 years, and rowing is my passion. I was more so into rowing when I first started as a way to meet friends and to get exercise. When spring season 2021 came around I realized I wanted to get a lot more competitive. I worked my hardest to get into the varsity 8, and made it for the last race of the season. Over the summer of 2021 I decided twork very hard to try and keep a spot in the boat. When fall season came around I made it in and stayed very motivated to keep getting better, and  currently I’m still pushing myself to do even better. Other things about me that might be beneficial to a team, is lots of experience in leadership. I made Eagle Scout through Boy Scouts of America, and have gotten lots of leadership experience and skills.  I’ve played all types of sports, I played football for seven years but after figuring it was too much I found out about rowing and it felt like the perfect sport and I have loved it ever since.
