Hi, I'm Matthew Mitich, a senior at Mesquite Highschool in Gilbert, Arizona and soccer has been an integral part of my life since the age of six. Currently standing at 6'3", I've spent seven seasons with Phoenix Brazas FC, where my dedication to the game has become a part of who I am. As a versatile player, I play defense as both a centerback and outside back, showcasing my adaptability. Additionally, my skills extend to the midfield, where I contribute as a defensive midfielder. Whether on the field or in training, I consistently give my all, maintaining a relentless work ethic and a commitment to providing 110%. Having served as the Varsity captain for two years and leading my club team, my role extends beyond the technical aspects of the game. As a vocal centerback, I guide and motivate my teammates, fostering a positive team dynamic in both winning and losing games. My soccer journey has taken me beyond local competitions, allowing me to participate in international games at the Helsinki Cup in Finland and the Gothia Cup in Sweden. These experiences have not only broadened my perspective on the sport but have fueled my ambition to play at the collegiate level. Looking ahead, I aspire to pursue a major in Business Information Systems or Business Finance. This academic pursuit aligns with my passion for soccer and my long-term goal of merging my love for the game with a career in the business world. Academically, I've maintained a 3.6 unweighted GPA, and I've already earned 21 college credits through my local community college. My parents instilled in me the importance of excelling in the classroom, and I've embraced this challenge with enthusiasm. In the off-season, I'm committed to maintaining peak physical condition. This involves rigorous training with private coaches and dedicated sessions in the gym with an athletic trainer. I believe that staying fit and disciplined off the field is crucial to being ready for any game. Soccer isn't just a sport to me; it's a lifelong passion. I'm eager to continue my journey at the collegiate level, where I'm confident that my hard work, determination, and leadership will make a positive impact. I look forward to contributing both on the field and in the classroom, embracing the challenges and opportunities that collegiate soccer has to offer.
