Erick Lazo '23 Recruiting Profile

Throughout my life, I have met obstacles, set new goals, and have been one of the leaders in various teams. I've played 8, about to be 9 years of competitive soccer, won various tournaments, including State Cup in 2017 with MVLA Soccer club.  After every match, I go over things I need to improve I have been able to improve my technique, positioning, vision, passing, and shooting till today, and it still grows. The word "student-athlete" has student first, I know I have the academics, maintaining a 4.0 or higher GPA. Most importantly I know I have the character, I grew up with two great parents who have helped build my character. I'm not just a person who gives up easily, I'm competitive, and I want to be a great leader for my younger brothers to follow my steps. I get my motivation from my family, knowing I'd be the first to graduate from a UC or CSU.
